Meteorfall: Journeys - Extremely polished card-based roguelike. Classes are each fairly unique, and each run feels great.
Mighty Heroes - It's nice to have a card game that can be played in portrait mode. I just grabbed this off the play store myself so I'm not sure how balanced or nuanced the play is yet but I've enjoyed the 2-3 hours I've put into it so far. If you play you'll get serious Hearthstone vibes, but the combat is a bit different as your monsters only attack straight ahead, and don't generally take damage when they attack.

A new take on the classic strategy 4X game with beautiful low poly art.
Puzzle & Dragons - A gacha based puzzle game, where you build your team of monsters and try to overcome enemies with different abilities in dungeons. There's quite a lot of depth to the game but it can get super grindy if you are trying to keep up with the collaborations and events in game. Think bejeweled but where you can make multiple matches of 3 or more gems in one turn. Each of your monsters has one or more special abilities that can be used, and you have one "leader" with passive abilities and a friend's monster you can bring along that also provides a leader ability. I still come back to this but when I was first into it I couldn't put it down for the longest time until I burned out. It's nice that there is a coop mode as well.
Really Bad Chess - Really Bad Chess is just like chess, but with totally random pieces. Try 8 Knights, 4 Bishops, and 3 pawns — why not?

Team up with blacksmiths, tailors, priestesses, carpenters and herbalists to make your business prosper. Trade, sell or auction your products to the highest bidders from other shops. Sell your goods to warriors and even add a surcharge!
Siege: Titan Wars - Similar to Clash Royale but much faster based and rather unique as well. I dropped most of my other games besides this one and COD.

Sudoku - The Clean One - Basic Sudoku game. Don't play it all that much anymore, but it was the best of the bunch when I did.
Super Fowlst - Great little roguelike that can get quite intense. I usually play more chill games but this one scratches that Action-game itch when I get it.
Tap Healer - Healing Touch - A great game that gives you the feeling of playing a healer in an MMO. You'll have npc allies that will tick damage on the enemy as you use your different abilities/talents to keep them alive. If you enjoy playing as a healer in RPGs this game is worth checking out, there's not really a story but as you progress you can actually see what it's like to play a healer in small dungeons or eventually large raids.

Decentralized applications on TERA platform

Decentralized applications on TERA platform

Implementation of blockchain technologies provided a solution that allows to refuse of use of central servers for storing the database and to entrust them to a distributed registry. For the first time it was implemented through the example of digital currency – Bitcoin. Then enthusiastic programmers, who focused their attention on the opened opportunities, went further. They began to implement their ideas and supply new tools, laying the foundation for the digital system of the future. In such a way, smart contracts and decentralized applications appeared, presented to the user as software products for wide variety of spheres: business, entertainment, communication… Virtual blockchain began to obtain visual outlines.

https://preview.redd.it/utjl7ervb9u21.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46f4ce45dbf1a3f3d84be8b027ebf10fb3374c30

Leaders in creation DApps

Ethereum became the first blockchain project that allows the creation of smart contracts and DApps.
But programmers faced difficulty - low transaction speed, which was limited to 20 tps. In 2017, EOS and TRON acted as projects that found a solution. They collected millions with the help of ICO and drove by roadmap.
On the one hand, indeed, the shown speed was significantly different and gave the opportunity to develop DApps (TRON - 1200 tps, EOS - 4000 tps). Although Ethereum took the lead in the number of created in its blockchain applications, taking a head start in two years, the competitors who appeared on the market began to drain-away developers to their platforms. For April 2019 EOS ranks the first in the number of unique users (171k) and transaction volume ($ 3 bln), TRON - the second (71k, 600 mln). This is despite the fact that more DApps allocated in Ethereum. The only thing is that transaction rate both TRON and EOS was obtained detriment of decentralization. Both projects work on the PoS consensus algorithm, and this is already a reason not to consider them decentralized. As for Ethereum, its blockchain with each fork also gradually moves towards the final transition to the PoS consensus. While the main developers justify their actions by that the PoW algorithm has already outlived itself and the distributed registry running on such a consensus cannot provide the characteristics, necessary for full-fledged DApps functionality.
That is not so!

Attractive advantage of TERA

In 2018 the TERA Foundation blockchain project was launched, which proved that it is too early to throw PoW into the past, if only because it copes brilliantly with security issues.
The author of TERA Yuri Ivanov by combining the sha3 and secp256k1 encryption algorithms in cryptography achieved excellent results, guaranteeing 1,000 transactions per second. And the architecture features of the TERA blockchain have higher capabilities - 5,000 tps. Moreover, this speed is not the limit, but without a network load test it’s early to talk about other numbers for the moment.
Anyway, we already see that currently provided speed allow the creators of DApps to embody their ideas. Language of smart contracts JavaScript facilitates the challenge. Some developers together with the creator of TERA did not waste time and for a relatively short time period of the platform’s existence placed into its space a number of really decentralized applications, that are now available to all wallet owners.

What DApps are on the TERA platform

So, what is currently available for use to members of the TERA community?

https://preview.redd.it/bf7o1dk6c9u21.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3df9247705396f59b08155462029f65c5a1303b0
TERA decentralized exchange and a multi-currency wallet
The first decentralized platform for the cryptocurrency exchange is already in operation.
To be honest, for the present is only in one, but the most important direction - TERA / BTC.
Meaning that those who wish to purchase a coin can use the sellers' offers, placed on the platform, without turning to other exchanges where TERA has already passed listing.

https://preview.redd.it/69nclntcc9u21.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=354b5175186e5e684146cde489a02db0824a823f
Upon that, thanks to the latest update you can create a BTC account that will be bound to the main one. For sure increasing the number of cryptocurrencies for both trade and storage will increase the attractiveness. However, this is just a question of time and monitoring with what time intervals updates are released there is a confidence that it will not take long to wait. Moreover, to the topic of wallets and coins it pays to add that TERA allows you to issue your own tokens.

Services for business
Special attention is given to decentralized applications that help to conduct business activities and other dealings. For example, DApp "Promise" is available. By activating a smart contract the seller fixes his obligations with a bounded frozen account without money. The buyer studies the conditions and if they are suitable for him, he transfers the specified amount. Then goods are forwarded, or services are being provided. When deal is fulfilled, the buyer defrosts the seller’s account with the payment received. In case of refusal, the case is regarded by the escrow - the creator of the smart contract.

https://preview.redd.it/y8mp33tkc9u21.jpg?width=819&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28e7479c77264658a07ec5768d351cc7f4f8ddc9
There is a DApp "Frozen", where you can freeze funds on your own account until the specified date or until a specific block is generated.
A great way to avoid money wasting and to hodl some coins for a desired period.
Other applications are in the planning stage, that will facilitate business processes conducting on the blockchain directly between the parties, without intermediaries.

Gambling
Gambling admirers comprise a third of decentralized applications users. Therefore, among the DApps hosted on the TERA blockchain, entertainment from this area began to appear. There are a double bet game, a lottery and a one-armed bandit (slot machine). The slot machine evokes associations with the very first mechanical gambling machine of 1905.
It also has 3 drums and one pay line. But the functionality allows you to win the bonus round with 5 free spins and increased prize payout. Yet truth be told, you should be careful.
Personally, I’ve got the combination giving the jackpot x 200 bets, but as I later noticed the winning did not arrive in the account. Therefore, record the evidence of such things just to be on the safe side.

https://preview.redd.it/whioug4qc9u21.jpg?width=467&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3f571ea0512678817bb7d31059fffcd816729a7
By the way, after the post about these errors in Discord (https://discordapp.com/invite/CvwrbeG), the reply followed immediately. The reason was that for the convenience of the player the slot does not wait for 8 seconds, which are necessary for the blockchain to confirm the block, but returns results earlier. But if there is a case of a lost block, an error occurs, where diamonds symbols are shown on the drum.
It was reported about the immediate update of the client version with the corrected drawbacks of previous one.

Online shop
The platform operates an online shop with toys on the game Minecraft subject. For TERA coins you can get soft toys, souvenirs and other goods with the next day delivery in Moscow and within 5 days to other cities of the Russian Federation.
But it will be no difficulty for other salesmen to join and offer their product range. Creating an online store does not require much time, cost or special efforts. It will take several minutes between the decision to open the goods sales point on a decentralized TERA platform and fully realized project. It is enough to load feed with an assortment and prices. Moreover, all data is stored on the blockchain, which excludes needs for hosting.

https://preview.redd.it/crh2an11d9u21.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=806c3d73766b9a212c1c3d15ed2d82d3cdb402a5
The buyer studies the product and if finds something interesting for himself, makes an order. A clear interface with a full functional basket is available to fulfill the order.
Payment is commission-free. The seller observes the process through the admin panel, which informs him about the state of affairs and reports the change of good statuses during all stages - from the moment of adding to the basket to delivery to the buyer.
The money paid for the goods is reserved on the buffer account at first and only after the buyer receives his order, the seller receive the amount of money to his account.

Other DApps
The first resources for communication appeared on the decentralized platform. This is a forum and dating chat.
Arcade games started to come in, like Floppy Birds. This game already was able to prove that for a poor little bird it’s so difficult to fly, even in the blockchain space!
Especially when the flight takes place in the neighborhood of a virtual industrial town, where there are more pipes than trees, and they grow right before our eyes (in the truest sense of the word!)

Once again, I would like to remark that all this is really decentralized, it works and TERA is waiting for new developers, those who want to distribute and monetize their software products free, and what is more, in the most popular programming language – JavaScript.

What else would be nice to see on TERA

Virtual soil of TERA is just beginning to put out shoots of the first planted digital seeds, and in the blockchain space there is enough space for the flight of imagination when creating DApps. I will give as an example just the first that comes to mind, as well as taken from the statements of members of the TERA community on Discordapp.com.
Thus, would be great to see:
- platform for trading binary options, for a start at least on the same pair of TERA / BTC;
- browser for work with DApps and recommendations for building applications;
- a service for voting on the blockchain would provide transparency into the system of election in any sphere (such a proposal was received at Eurovision-2019, why not create it on TERA);
- author's rights patenting services for works of art, inventions and other intellectual property;
- a full-fledged forum where comments would be saved and could not be deleted (the foundation of such an application has already been laid);
- chess, backgammon, bingo, durak and other classic games;
- more games! Strategies, shooter games, exploration games... Suggest to take a deeper look to the hits of the 80s and 90s. Could be found what to remember and transfer to the decentralized platform TERA;
- fully functional casino with a wide range of entertainment: 3-line and 5-line Slot games, roulette, blackjack, poker, bets and other services of gambling industry;
- and so on and so forth.
If such ideas do not come to developers’ mind, feel free to contact the author of this article and he will share his own in the field of gaming and gambling, and help with their realization with the creative approach!
In the long run, what we need for everyday life? Tools to make money and ways to spend it.
The unique features of TERA blockchain make it possible to place both in it.
Plus they will be independent of any central administration and free of censorship.
To inspire developers for actions, the Chinese TERA community announced a contest with a prize fund of 165,000 coins.

Those who are interested in placing their DApps on TERA will be helped by DApp Paper - https://docs.google.com/document/d/10yXAKxaU7YgrQnbdXu_L7WWovUoRtdJwo3tXXaGZGSQ/edit
And a couple of words to the developers: You can choose TRON platform, you can choose EOS or Ethereum. But what are your priorities? All these systems are in the hands of corporate owners, which leads away from decentralization. And those who want to get away from totalitarian control and give the fruits of their creativity complete freedom should consider the TERA platform.
The TERA Foundation website has a page with a special world map. It shows in real time how many full nodes support the blockchain operation- https://terafoundation.org/map.html. To be among the first means to participate in laying the foundation, that is able to withstand a powerful boost to the rapid development of future technologies. If there is no your city on the map, only a few minutes separates you from correcting it. Instructions for node installation will help to join the TERA community and make your contribution right now.
It can be found here: https://sourceforge.net/p/tera/code/ci/mastetree/README.md

Participation in the expansion of TERA encourages growth and development of the idea of freedom from central administration, which was stated when Bitcoin was launched.
These are not just fantasies or dreams, there are authoritative representatives of science who consider blockchains to be the basis for the economy of future, which will have no boundaries. And with the help of active participants full decentralization will come much faster. This development has no limits, since it is fueled by the independent striving, own free will and potential that is inherent in each of us.

Against Buying Low: A Meditation On Our Favorite Fantasy Tactic, Which Might Not Actually Work

Warning: Novel-length post ahead.
It’s that time of the season when this forum—along with much of the fantasy basketball punditry across the web—is fixated on buying low. It seems like the majority of threads here, and columns across the fantasy basketball web, are focused on identifying good buy low candidates.
Which, to me, begged the question: does buying low actually work? And the answer was: I had no fucking idea. Sure, there was a wealth of anecdotal evidence, but that could lead you in very different directions, depending upon whether you had bought low last year on Danny Green, or on Chris Paul. There was no metric of how effective a strategy it is on the whole.
So I set out to create one.
There’s a lot of uncertainty involved in buying low on players, and so by necessity we should be making probabilistic predictions: talking in terms of the odds that something will happen, rather than a binary will-it-or-won’t-it position. Anyone who says “Player X will certainly bounce back from their slow start” or “Player Y certainly won’t” is talking out of their ass. The truth is, we can’t say for sure: NBA statistics are the product of a complex system, not quite as complex as, say, the weather, but complex nonetheless. I can state with a pretty high degree of confidence that Kawhi Leonard will post top 10 value over the rest of the season (much like a meteorologist can estimate with pretty high confidence what the high temperature will be tomorrow). But ask a meteorologist what the high temperature will be on January 20th, or ask me whether Paul Millsap will post top 25 value the rest of the season, and now neither of us is quite so confident. The meteorologist would be hard pressed to do better than just guessing the average January 20th temperature from the last 20 years. And I’d probably be best off trying to figure out guys similar to Paul Millsap who have started slow, and asking what percentage of them ended up posting top 25 value.
Now, of course I am not suggesting that a statistical model could give you all of the information you need to determine whether it’s a good idea to buy low on someone. Things like team situation, minutes, injury history, etc. matter of course, and there’s no easy way to build a statistical model to account for them. But it’s still essential that we have some sort of model to give us an overall understanding of how effective buying low is. When we’re thinking about buying low, we tend to start with the “inside view” (whether a guy’s coach likes him; whether he’s spending extra time working on his FT shooting; whether he’s in a contract year), but in reality, we should be looking first at the “outside view:” what % of all buy low candidates end up getting their shit together? That number should be our jumping-off point, and then, when we have it, we can adjust it for situation-specific info like their minutes, their team situation, etc. If we start by looking at the inside view, we can fool ourselves into thinking: “Everything’s set up for this guy to succeed; there’s probably a 90% chance he bounces back this year.” When, in reality, that’s probably a pretty terrible estimate, and the outside view shows us why.
[A note on the data (feel free to skip this): I have taken players who have started slow over the first 32 days of the previous 3 seasons (2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16). These are “struggling” players. In each year, I have limited the data set to players who were in the top 75 in final average value the previous year, per bbm, and I define “struggling” players as those who are underperforming their previous year’s ranking by at least (5 x round #). So if a player finished 32nd the year before, they would need to be at 47th (32 + [5 x 3]) or lower over the first 32 days of the following season in order to qualify as “struggling.” Of course, these distinctions are, to an extent, arbitrary, and you could slice the data somewhat differently (though I think the general principle would still hold). My rationale for cutting off the pool at top 75: players below that level generally aren’t “buy low” candidates, because their owners tend to cut them if they’re really struggling early in the season. As for determining what qualifies someone as “struggling,” I wanted to capture the fact that a 1st round pick who slides 10 spots is a much bigger disaster than a 6th round pick who slides 10 spots. I don’t think the method I came up with is perfect, but it does at least have a reasonably even distribution of “struggling” players in each round. Also, I tossed out anyone who played fewer than 50 games in their prior full season, or fewer than 10 games over their “struggling” month. I wanted this to reflect guys who are basically healthy; buying low on injured players is a whole other can of worms.]
There are 78 “struggling” starts over these 3 seasons. (And some guys lay claim to multiple slow starts; looking at you, Serge Ibaka.) In looking at end results, I have grouped players into 5 categories. Category 1 encompasses players who, for the remainder of the season, actually outperform the value they put up the previous year. So if a guy was ranked 30th in 2014-15, and then slides to 60th in the first month of 2015-16, but then posts 25th-ranked value for the rest of 2015-16, he’s in Category 1. A player in Category 2 did not match his value from the previous year, but came close enough to it over the rest of the season that he wouldn’t qualify as “struggling,” per the definition above. Players in Category 3 qualified as “not struggling” under a less stringent definition: 10 x round #, instead of 5 x round #. Category 4 encompasses players who improved upon their terrible start, but didn’t play well enough to qualify for Categories 1, 2, or 3. So a player who ranked 40th the year before, and then 120th over the first month of the season, and then 100th over the rest of the season, would fall into Category 4. Players in Category 5 went on to perform even worse for the rest of the season than they did in the first month.
In more basic terms, you can think of it like this: Buying low on a Category 1 player is an Excellent Decision, buying low on a Category 2 player a Good Decision, buying low on a Category 3 player a Neutral Decision, buying low on a Category 4 player a Bad Decision, and buying low on a Category 5 player is a Terrible Decision. So generally speaking, in a reasonably competitive league, in order for a buy low trade to actually help your team, you’ll need the guy you receive to fall into either Category 1 or Category 2.
[Aside: There’s no way for me to know how intelligent the other managers in your league are; of course, if you can get a struggling guy who was drafted in the 2nd round for waiver wire fodder, then go forth (and you don’t need this guide). But in my experience it’s usually hard to buy really low on medium-to-high draft picks. You can cite the sunk cost fallacy all you want, but on some level, owners’ aversion to selling low makes sense; your objective should always be to win your league, and if you sell a guy that you took in the 2nd round for someone whose ceiling is 6th round value, you may have improved the floor of your overall team, but you’ve almost certainly made yourself less likely to come in 1st than if you just held onto your 2nd round pick and prayed.]
So let’s take a look at the data. What percentage of struggling guys end up falling into each of our 5 categories?
The breakdown isn’t very encouraging:
Category # of Players
1 15
2 20
3 10
4 11
5 22
http://imgur.com/a/8yCKy
If you buy low on a random player, the single most likely outcome of these 5 is that he’s going to go on to play even worse than the month of games that made him a buy low candidate in the first place. There’s a 42.3% chance that buying low on him is going to be a Bad Decision or a Terrible Decision, and a 44.8% chance, roughly comparable, that it’s going to be a Good Decision or an Excellent Decision. And given the sort of value you usually have to give up to buy low, it’s likely that the Category 4 and 5 players are going to hurt you more than the Category 1 and 2 players are going to help you. (I.e., it’s unusual for someone who is top 75 to begin with, and then sucks for a month, to suddenly get it together and start playing significantly better than their baseline ability. But it’s not that unusual for someone to suck for a month, and then continue sucking for the next 4 months.)
“Okay,” you might say, “Buying low in aggregate isn’t an amazing idea, but given my fantasy basketball knowledge, I can determine which players are going to be Category 1 and Category 2 guys, rather than just buying low at random.”
This was basically what I believed about myself. So I thought about which factors might lead me to think a single particular player was a good “buy low” candidate. The first thing that came to mind was the round they would have been picked in, based off of value the previous year. Surely 1st and 2nd round picks are safer investments, more likely to sniff 1st or 2nd round value despite their slow starts than a 6th round pick would be likely to approach 6th round value if he starts out badly. Right?
Well, basically, no.
If you look at the breakdown, higher-round slow starters are just as likely to flame out as their lower-round counterparts. And they aren’t any more likely to exceed their value from the previous year, either.
Round Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Category 4 Category 5
1 2 6 0 3 4
2 3 6 1 2 4
3 3 2 4 3 5
4 2 2 2 3 4
5 3 2 1 0 1
6-7 2 2 2 0 4
Round Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Category 4 Category 5
1-3 8 14 5 8 13
4-7 7 6 5 3 9
Then I scrutinized the list of high-ranking players, and wondered if there was a better indicator than round value to demonstrate someone’s consistency or safety as a pick. After all, Danny Green posted 2nd round value in 2014-15, but no one was drafting him in the 2nd round in 2015-16. So how about sorting guys by their usage rates? Usage is a pretty solid indicator of how involved a player is in his team’s offense. It stands to reason that someone like LeBron, who has a sky-high usage every year, is a safer selection, relative to where he’s drafted, than someone like Danny Green, who touches the ball less and thus is more vulnerable if his team’s tactics evolve (like, say, to accommodate the arrival of LaMarcus Aldridge).
So I sorted the players in my data set into 3 categories: High Usage (someone with a usage rate above 26.5 in the full previous season); Medium Usage (someone with a usage rate between 20 and 26.5 in the full previous season); and Low Usage (someone with a usage rate under 20 in the full previous season).
Surprisingly, the correlation isn’t especially strong here either. It’s true that on the whole, high usage players are somewhat safer bets, and are less likely to end up in true disaster territory (Category 5) than low usage players, with the middle-usage guys falling in the middle. But it’s not a hugely strong correlation, and it’s also true that low usage players are more likely to fall into Category 1 than high usage players are.
Usage Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Category 4 Category 5
High 5 9 1 5 4
Medium 2 9 6 2 8
Low 8 2 3 4 10
http://imgur.com/a/9bTFv http://imgur.com/a/ltLJT http://imgur.com/a/XS6IE
Next, I wondered whether position might be the better metric to look at. Sure, some of the benefits and drawbacks of position are captured by usage (with Cs and SGs tending to have lower usage rates than PGs and SFs), but perhaps there were other pieces of the puzzle that usage didn’t capture. Maybe centers, due to higher risk of injury and a more dramatic dropoff late in their careers, were at greater risk of not recovering from a slow start. Maybe point guards were more insulated due to their central role in a team’s offense.
But, running the numbers, there wasn’t much to glean here either. Perhaps big men are slightly riskier buy low candidates, but the upside seems to be greater as well.
Position Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Category 4 Category 5
PG 2 5 2 3 3
SG 1 5 1 2 5
SF 4 3 2 2 3
PF 3 3 2 1 5
C 4 4 3 3 6
Then I looked at the fantasy category in which each buy low candidate was struggling the most. Maybe guys who start the year in a shooting slump are more likely to bounce back than guys who see a reduction in rebounds, for instance. I had expected that FG% would be the most common category here, but I was shocked by just how common it was. 34 out of 78 players (43.6% of them) had a greater dropoff in FG% than in any other category. The other very popular category was steals, which was the biggest problem for 13/78 players (16.7%).
Based on the data I’ve got here, there’s no category that seems to clearly suggest whether a player is a good buy low candidate. Even dropoffs in points and rebounds, which you would think would be indicators that a player has entered a less favorable team situation, don’t tell us much about how they’re likely to perform moving forward (though the sample is, admittedly, limited). This suggests that even players whose situations change dramatically usually find ways to make themselves useful from a fantasy perspective, whether it’s improving their efficiency (FG% and TOs) or focusing more on defensive stats. A dropoff in 3PT is probably the most concerning based on this data, but with just 6 players in that category, I’d be wary of drawing too firm a conclusion from that. On the whole, the category a player struggles in isn’t especially helpful in projecting their performance moving forward.
Fantasy Cat Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Category 4 Category 5
3PT 1 1 0 1 3
AST 1 0 0 0 0
BLK 4 0 1 0 1
FG 6 11 3 4 10
FT 2 0 1 3 0
PTS 0 4 1 1 1
REB 0 1 1 1 0
STL 1 3 3 1 5
TO 0 0 0 0 2
So what about age? Finally, here, a pattern begins to emerge:
Age Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Category 4 Category 5
24 and under 2 4 0 2 0
25 5 6 0 1 3
26-28 2 1 4 3 7
29-30 5 6 3 3 4
31 and above 1 3 3 2 8
Age Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Category 4 Category 5
25 and under 7 10 0 3 3
26 and older 8 10 10 8 19
http://imgur.com/a/kZj1u
At first glance, this surprised me. Certainly, I expected there to be a significant dropoff as players aged into their 30’s, as this data includes guys from the Garnett/Pierce/Nowitzki generation as they gradually slipped from reliable early round players, to middle-rounders, to scrubs. So that piece of the aging curve (with the brutal track record for players 31+) is pretty much exactly what I expected.
It’s the younger half of the aging curve that initially confused me. I think the traditional understanding is that athletes in many sports, including basketball, tend to peak statistically around the age of 26-28. So I had thought that we would see the best buy low options in that age range. Instead, it skews significantly younger, with age 25 appearing to be the cutoff: guys 25 and younger are, on the whole, much stronger buy low candidates, and then once they hit 26, it’s no longer a good idea to buy low on them.
But the more I thought about it, the more this made sense. After all, when we talk about guys peaking in the 26-28 range, we’re talking about their absolute performance, whereas in fantasy we’re more concerned with their performance relative to the previous year, and hence relative to where they were likely to be drafted. And players almost always make the biggest gains in fantasy value between the ages of 22 and 25. Now, of course, some of this expectation of improvement is baked into guys’ average draft positions; players like Towns and Porzingis are going to be drafted above where they finished the previous year on the expectation that they will develop and improve. But it seems like this assumption of improvement often goes out the window when a young guy starts slow; people are often willing to cut the cord on underperforming young guys, whether due to a fear of the “sophomore slump” or a suspicion that, given their limited NBA track records, they may just not be good enough yet to justify their high ADP (see, for example, all of the people panicking about Towns’s somewhat slow start).
In my experience, people seem to be more willing to unload an underperforming young player at a reasonable price, than they would be willing to unload an underperforming 30-year-old with a solid fantasy track record of many years. But they shouldn’t be: buying low on young players is not only higher-upside, it’s also, surprisingly, a safer bet than buying low on veterans, or even buying low on guys in the 26-28 range, which I would have thought to be the safest age range of all.
So if there’s one thing you should look at when you consider buying low, it’s the dude’s birthday.
Now, is there an appropriate time for buying low on guys older than 25? Of course. It’s important not to lose sight of the fact that (for me, at least, and I suspect for many other players) fantasy sports are an all-or-nothing exercise, e.g., you’d rather give yourself a chance of coming in 1st and a chance of coming in 8th, instead of locking in a 4th place finish. So if your team is struggling, it makes sense to pursue volatile, high-risk-high-reward strategies. And that’s exactly what buying low is.
But on the whole, buying low is not an efficient way of generating value. Trades rarely are. The most reliable way to generate value is to draft well; then, trades should be used primarily to solidify punting strategies, not to generate value. Sure, occasionally you’ll strike it hot with a random buy low candidate, but overall, it’s not a reliable way to improve one’s team. Yes, if your team is already bad, you might as well leverage a high-risk strategy and give it a shot, but “buying low” is often touted as THE essential fantasy basketball strategy, and there’s not a lot of evidence to support that.

The 2017 census results are in! Read here for results and possible future improvements to the subreddit.

Yes, the lovely big survey census thing I originally wanted to post a week after the bracket contest ended (but delayed to like 3 weeks) around the time we surpassed 5,000 subscribers, and I only wanted to run for 2 weeks (it's been 3). Through this time, we have received 147 responses. While these responses represent only a small part of our subscriber base (wow, we're almost at 6k scrobbles already), this is still a great amount of feedback. We've already begun making some changes based off of this feedback, and we'll talk about those and some more here in this thread.
If you missed the survey and still want to make your voice heard, it will continue to accept responses through Wednesday the 23rd of August, 2017.
Let's get right into the analysis, shall we? TL;DR: Just look through this album.
Demographics
The first section focused on general census stuff, so we can figure out what kind of weirdos browse here.
A whopping 91.84% of respondents identified as a male. Females represent 6.80% of respondents, while the remaining 1.36% either chose not to identify or identified as a non-binary gender. I was expecting a male majority based off of general Reddit user stats, but holy crap this place is a sausage fest. Who would have guessed that so many guys would like to look at pictures of cute anime girls?
The average respondent is 21.9 years old, with our youngest being 14 and our oldest being 38. Oh, by the way, I did take time to remove some bogus answers. Apologies to our 1-year-old respondent, but your computer skills are an outlier.
Almost 80% of our users come from NA. Europe takes the next largest piece of the pie, while Asia, SA, and Oceania comprise the few remaining users. No African users responded to the survey. Originally I wanted this to be a dropdown menu where you could select your home country, but pasting such a large list drove Google Drive crazy. I then figured that breaking the continents down into regions would be the next best option, but then I had to include maps to show what was considered Northern America, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, etc. So, yeah, I just went with continents because it was simple and still informative. Another option could have been to list the most populous countries that Reddit is popular in and allow others to be written in (or just bunched together), but I wanted to avoid write-ins altogether. Write in questions are the easiest to setup, but they are the worst to analyze. For this example, the answers US, United States, USA, U.S., and U.S.A. would all be listed as separate answers when they should be batched together. It gets even better when you realize how great Google Drive is. I asked about users' favorite VNs later on in this survey, and there were 4 different Katawa Shoujo answers despite all of them being spelled identically.
We got brains n stuff. A breakdown of education levels: * Two-thirds of users have completed their secondary education * About 22% of users are currently enrolled in their secondary education * 31.21% of users are either enrolled in post-secondary education or have been without earning a degree * 23.40% of users have earned a degree
A majority of our users are students, which agrees with the large amount of answers in the previous question for being currently enrolled.
All of us speak English! This is great because I didn't write the survey in any other language! Spanish, Japanese, German, and French round out the top 5 spoken languages here, and one dude really wanted to let us know about his programming languages. I might make that a separate question the next time we do this.
Media Preferences and Habits
We watch a good amount of anime shows. I was interested in how close to a normal distribution these questions would be, and this one isn't very close. The median is in the 76-100 series category, which is a fair bit of anime.
We don't watch that many anime movies. This isn't too surprising, since episodic series just seem to be more common than movies overall. The median is only in the 6-10 category here. If you only watched Studio Ghibli films directed by Miyazaki, you would come up to 9 films.
We don't read that much either. There's a ton of good manga and LNs, but most of us just seem to read between a few and a couple dozen, likely limiting ourselves to series that's been adapted into anime we liked and similar to what we've already read. The median here is within 11-20 series. Coincidentally, there are 14 series that have sold more than 100 million copies.
Comedy, action, slice of life, adventure, and moe are our favorite genres. Yaoi, josei (added after ~40 responses), and sports are by far the least popular genres.
Binge watching is slightly preferred over watching a series as it airs. Overall, the two sides are almost even in combination with having no major preference.
Subs are strongly preferred over dubs. About 1/4 of users will opt for the high quality dubs, like Cowboy Bebop.
The most popular anime is the Monogatari Series. The most popular manga is Yotsubato! The most popular LN is Spice and Wolf. The most popular VN is Katawa Shoujo. The most popular fanged character is Shinobu. SO HOW DID SHE LOSE IN THE BRACKET?!?!?
A full table of favorites will be listed in the comments.
Reddit Preferences and Habits
Almost half of us have been trapped on this stupid site for more than 3 years. Imagine how much more we could have accomplished if we didn't waste our time here. Now imagine how we would have just found other time wasters instead of actually doing that stuff.
Some are selective with subscriptions, while others try to collect them all. The median here is in the 41-50 category, more than enough to fill up a front page.
Over 3 years of spending a lot of time on Reddit. Man, imagine all the anime we could've been watching instead! Median here is 16-20 hours weekly. I'm more curious about the 15 people that claim to be here over 40 hours per week. Do you all work in a job with a lot of downtime (some IT or security) or what?
Mobile browsing is slightly more popular than desktop. Our average here is a 4.31, just slightly in favor of mobile. The Reddit admins keep mentioning how mobile traffic through their official app is growing very quickly, and they recently updated their traffic states to include their own app's traffic. We've also noticed this increase. Our goal is to make this subreddit as mobile-friendly as possible. While we're still awaiting Reddit's new customization features, which will include much more customization for mobile (on their own app only, probably), but we're still open to making any changes now. We already require reputable image hosts to be used, but if Imgur starts being fucky on mobile just give us a holler.
Most of us desktop users have made Reddit bearable with RES. RES is great, it tracks how many times you've upvoted my posts! It does other stuff, too, and there are ways to customize our CSS specific to RES users, but that's not important (CSS is hard). If you don't know about RES, you can visit /Enhancement to learn more.
Reddit's official app is the most popular way to browse on mobile. This surprises me because I absolutely hate it. And why do so many people try using the mobile site? Is there a way to block that stupid pop up telling you to download the app that I haven't found? Reddit is Fun and Relay for Reddit are the most popular third-party apps, and I understand why. I used RiF for a while and it's great and simple. I've switched to Relay now because I enjoy its style just a bit more, but it's also just as easy to use and works just as well. In response to the official app's popularity, we are hoping to start using some of their styling options. For now, we've added little Holo as a mobile icon image and are working to adapt our current desktop banner to fit the mobile requirements. Note that we're still touching up on the desktop banner, though, so...
And we share a majority of our users with /awwnime, /anime, /anime_irl, and /headpats. In the near future we will find ways to leech users from these subs, but feel free to suggest some ways down below! Except the /anime_irl subs, we don't want them. It'll be okay, they're used to rejection. And shoutouts to /tyingherhairup, I like the guy that posts there.
On /CuteLittleFangs
You like us! Oh, boy, you really like us! On average you scored us a 5.38, a very respectable score. If we made this a 5-star scale, we would be scored as a 3.8 star subreddit. On the film review site Letterboxd, the following films have an average rating of 3.8 stars: Airplane!, American Psycho, Batman Begins, The Lego Movie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mulan, and The Goonies. Those are all great films! (Side note: How is Airplane! below 4 stars??)
I'm the best mod...? I made this required at first for shits n gigs, but I also didn't have the "I don't know them" option at the time. I made that option because it made sense, and it fucking crushed the competition. But...I still technically won so yeah. Y'know, andres put a lot of work into our wiki here. It's actually got lots of great info, including our own self-written intro paragraphs. Check it out. Other possible ways to get to know us (if you want): join our Discord (link in the next section as well as the sidebar), scrobble us on last.fm, and let us know if little AMAs would be welcome. Tamatsu promised he would tattoo the most upvoted question in his AMA on his back. I lied about that last part, but once we've begun the AMA he can't say no...because of the implication.
We've got High Quality Fangs™. Look at how heavily that leans to the right! Look at that 5.77 average score! Look at the fangs on the front page.
Our fangs are in reasonable demand. We're at just about the right frequency of posts for most tastes, but our average score here is 3.76. So, you know what that means don't you? Post more fangs! But not too many, just a couple or so a day maybe! To increase user activity, we are now creating a contest. If you're able to post a cute fang to this subreddit, you might be able to win UP TO 300 KARMA PER ENTRY! Please no more than that, I'm a little sad I lost the #1 post spot.
Our NSFW rules are reasonable. This is good because we weren't planning to change them. A more detailed explanation of what we do and don't allow might be good for the future, but the sidebar explanation shouldn't be any longer. The same goes for many of our other rules. These could either be done through our subreddit wiki, or through mod posts that can be linked back to (this option makes for easy feedback).
NSFW post frequency is pretty okay. The average is a 3.64 here, so some users would like just a bit more lewds. In hindsight, I regret how I made this question, as we don't want to encourage or discourage any posts that follow the rules any more than your voting already does. Rather than taking this as saying we will start events like Sexy Saturday, take this as a hint that some tasteful nudes might be welcomed with upvotes. Still, this is a moe sub and always will be focused on the cute pics.
A majority of users didn't know about our bracket contest. Now, obviously we knew this since we have over 5k subs and only 209 votes were cast in the final round, but it's a little sad to see how many people were completely unaware. It's especially odd since more people voted in the bracket than answered this survey! The first explanation is that the bracket was ran on a third-party website, and users from that site could also have found our bracket and voted. I think /anime had a big bracket start up a bit after us, as vote counts began increasing throughout the event. Also, this explains why NON-FANGED characters like Kanna and MEGUMIN made it so far by being popular instead of being posted here a lot. I'm not bitter about it, shut up! Also, the bracket wasn't advertised very well on this subreddit. Aside from the stickied post every week (which stayed there until the next week), only a handful of posts were made that even mentioned it. Stickied posts are very easy to overlook, especially since we kept them there constantly, so you would only see the change if you actually read the post title instead of just noticing the green text. I recall that /dota2 had a similar issue with low turn-out on a survey similar to this one due to stickying the post immediately, causing most users to overlook it. Oh, and this kinda explains how so many people could vote Shinobu as their favorite here while letting her lose in the bracket. That and the fact that the only way I thought to promote this survey was posting about giving Shinobu donuts.
Most people like the new Holo banner, or, err, rather the old-new Holo banner. Despite an average score of 4.88, some comments gave good feedback about the banner, and this combined with our own dissatisfaction to encourage some improvements. We didn't wait until this post to begin making changes, we got impatient (okay it's my fault this is late). The banner is still a work in progress, and CSS is very hard, but we're glad to see such a positive response.
The sidebar is alright. I've always thought it was a little too wordy, but most users seem to like it and don't think it needs an overhaul. We've put a link for explaining the trope near the top of the sidebar and clarified some rules based on comments received.
We need more flair! In the future, when we're ready, we'll probably post a flair request thread similar to /anime_irl (example). We'll also be looking into standardizing some flairs, and we'll strongly prefer requests with sample images to use.
Most users aren't interested in our weekly show discussion. We kind of already knew this due to very low turnout, but we figured that finding out the root cause might help. Still, at least 10% of users did show interest in watching the shows and discussing, but haven't due to a confusing format and lack of people to discuss with. We don't expect a majority of users to participate in Cute Little Shows, but we're interested in having it available for those interested, and we've already begun reformatting it.
We tried to get an idea about what could improve CLS also. Due to this response, as well as issues with uploading hundreds of screenshots to Imgur every week, we have already begun a new format more similar to /anime discussions. Discussion questions were also a silly idea we came up with to try and promote some participation, and andres has made a great effort to begin the discussion with this new style. We are still open to improving this format (adding links to other anime databases and providing episode information) based off of your feedback. Also, many users have suggested using Discord for similar events, and it's definitely something we're open to do if enough people are interested.
Discord
A majority of our users use Discord, either regularly or when needed for a friend/event/etc. Yeah, Discord is pretty neat, I've finally gotten my friends to ditch Skype and it's great. If you want more information about Discord, you can check out their site here.
Just under half of users have joined a subreddit Discord server. Their experience is mostly alright. Average experience is a 4.51. If I were to guess, most of these servers are for games, and it makes perfect sense to find people to play with using a subreddit about the game and its server. This being said, I know /anime_irl has a popular unofficial server for...I think they just shitpost idk.
Almost 3/4 of you didn't know we had a Discord. It's true, we do. You can join it, if you want. But it's not like we want you to join or anything! It's also a work in progress, and it's been the thing I've worked on the most other than this survey.
The most common suggestions for the server are to use it for: * Gaming events * Shitposting and memes * Extra cute images * Anime discussion (possibly CuteLittleShows) * Subreddit meta discussion
Most of these are quite reasonable. Since this survey was posted and a few extra people joined the server and gave feedback, the following changes have been made: * Added #rules text channel * Added #memes and #cute-anime-pictures text channels * Added Dyno, Discordoragi, and Miki bots * Added voice channels for music (played by Dyno) and game chat (should make more than 1 probably) * Added secret mod channel you can't see * Added #bot-commands and #current-anime text channels
BTW, don't bother playing blackjack with Miki SHE'S A FUCKING CHEATER. I'm taking suggestions for another cute bot I don't think I can handle her anymore.
And almost 1/4 of users stopped the survey here.
Some interesting comments we received here:
C: Respectfully request semi large fangs. H: I don't know if that's our jurisdiction.
C: don't forget to give Shinobu the donut! H: We didn't! I think others are getting jealous she's getting so many donuts.
C: More cute little fangs is all I want H: Me too thanks
C: Posts by users are usually images of cute girls with fangs but I'd like to see more discussion or meme worthy posts H: "Be the memes you want to see in the world." They still need to have fangs and be at least a little cute though.
C: your waifu is shit H: saY THAT TO MY FACE
C: Have a nice day H: Don't tell me what to do.
C: Ey this survey is pretty good. H: Ey thx b0ss
C: [survey is] Too short :( H: Google Forms can be a pain to work with
C: Bit long, very few questions about actual fangs H: DAMMIT, FIRST I HEAR IT'S TOO SHORT AND NOW IT'S TOO LONG! I just want to make everyone happy!
C: You had Sindarin but not Quenya as a possible language instead of Elvish as a whole. I'm not sure what to think of that. H: I think ur a nerd.
C: Keep doing what you do H: Hey, you don't even know what I do outside of Reddit, that's a bold statement.
Video games
Now that that boring shit is out of the way, let's get to the real questions.
Almost all of us play PC games. The next closest systems are mobile games (44%) and the DS (39%). Mac comes in last place with only 2% of users, but there aren't that many games on Mac in the first place. The Mac users I know just use a Windows VM to play games, and reporting this as either Mac and/or Windows is up to the individual.
Action-adventure games and RPGs are tied for the most popular. FPS, action RPG, fantasy, TPS, strategy, and platformer games were also liked by a majority of users. I only added puzzle games and an "other" write-in box after about 100 responses, so puzzle games are unfairly low. Also, shoutout to that one dude that let us know their love for eroge. Sports games are actually just that unpopular with our users, it was there the whole time.
League is the most popular MOBA. This isn't too surprising, Riot did a good job promoting their game before anyone else and giving their users Stockholm syndrome. Nobody selected Aeon of Strife, Vainglory, or WC3 DotA. I've only ever met one person that stays on WC3 DotA, and he's a dick, so I put that and AoS on there to avoid people complaining about them. I'll probably leave those two off next time. I'll admit, I'm a little sad to see Dota 2 only be picked by 8.2% of users. Contemplating the issue, I realized that there just aren't enough weeb-friendly heroes in Dota 2. Not to worry, guys, I've sent Gabe N. and IceFrog emails with some suggestions. I have an idea. It will be melee hero. Maybe cute girl... Yeah, cute girl with blades who can dash, deal area of effects damage, and slow, and also have attack speed boost, and skill shot. She will release with a maid outfit arcana.
Anti-Mage is the Dota hero of choice...kinda. It's a bit too small of a sample size to be definitive, but only AM and Sniper received more than 1 vote. Pushing back my nightmares of 6.83, I'd be willing to stack with the Bane & Tiny players. I picked WR, we can all weep together about how dumpster our favorites are.
Ahri and Lux are the most popular League champs. Annie, Quinn, Riven, Teemo, and Tristana round out the top picks. I don't know enough about these people to make a joke. There were 42 responses here, btw, not sure why it appears in some of the images and not others and I wanted to close Excel really bad when I wrote this.
D.Va is the most popular Overwatch character. The next most popular choices are Mei (shudder), Lucio, Rein, McCree, and Mercy. If we made a team with these 6 heroes, it would actually be a 2-2-2 lineup. If the DPS players are good and comfy with Mei-Cree, it could definitely work, especially on defense.
Our CS:GO players are a mix. Some are stuck in silver (because of their team), but almost as many are into bhopping and trading. The remaining minority claims to actually be good, fucking tryhards.
PUBG players are little chickens. Out of 23 people, only 1 person chose each of Mil Base, Pochinki, and South George. Come on, guys, you can't run away the whole game, you gotta get that good loot. Seriously, more of you drop Mil Base so I can hide my way into top 10 easier.
Fire-type Pokemon are the most favorited. The next most popular choice was no preference, which is lame. You people will never be gym leaders with that indecisiveness! Normal & Poison tie for last place with 1 vote each.
The average amount of mods installed on our last Skyrim playthrough was 45.87. This is even with the most popular answer being 0, but a handful of users with over 200 mods skewed the mean a fair bit. The median answer was only 20 mods, for comparison. In hindsight, I think asking about Stormcloaks vs Empire would have been more interesting.
Independent Vegas is the most popular NV ending. Well, aside from not ending the game (47.1% of all responses). It's hard to tell how many people chose this option because they haven't even played the game, and people that have done multiple playthroughs don't have a clear way to chose (I picked my favorite ending, but I never told anyone else to).
The Brotherhood is the most popular choice in Fallout 4. Again, aside from not finishing the game (52.4% of all responses). I'm a little surprised to see so many people pick the Institute. Yeah, sure, both the BoS and Institute are dicks, but the BoS is cool at least.
Warlock is the most popular Destiny class.
Zerg is the most popular Starcraft race. Hey, that big update for SC2 seems neat, though. I was never good at SC2, but I stopped following it altogether because it just seemed like endless shit patches, only to have the OP stuff replaced with different OP stuff for the next year. We'll see how it goes, I guess.
Rin is the best girl in Katawa Shoujo...? HANAKO HAD AN EARLY LEAD YOU ALL CHEATED! And where are the Lilly pads? I've never seen Lilly score so low and Rin score so high, I think this vote was hacked.
DESU VULT! A little sad to see how few of us know the wonders of Glitterhoof and Xwedodah, but I can respect you crusaders.
Most of you want to be a sharpshooter, how shocking. It's LW, don't get too excited about surviving, okay.
Other
Mozzarella is the most popular cheese. It's a pretty great cheese, tbh. It's followed by Pepper Jack, Gouda, Cheddar, Swiss, and other. All of these are great, but how is American cheese tied for 7th? Have you guys even tried other cheeses? Ugh, fucking casual cheese eaters.
If we ordered a pizza, it would have lots of meat. Pepperoni, bacon, sausage, extra cheese, ham, and chicken are all enjoyed on pizza by a majority of users. Anchovies are the least popular topping, and only 1/4 of users enjoy pineapple pizza. I'd like to address some of the write ins: More cheese - I added extra cheese after I saw this Don't like pizza - I'm judging the shit out of you, brah. Probably should've just skipped the question, it was optional. Nothing extra - Hmm, I'm not sure if you should've just left everything unchecked or...y'know, a "Plain cheese pizza" option would've been alright, my bad Broccoli, Corn, Potato, Feta - Are we talking all together? Like on a pizza with tomato sauce? Feta works great, but idk about those first three. If it was some pizza-like flatbread they sound fine, but I'm never ordering a pizza with you. Canadian bacon - Ham was an option (half-joke, I know it's back bacon) Try mac and cheese and thank me later - Cici's Pizza's guerilla marketing campaign has gone too far. I ate there once at a middle school birthday party, and that was enough of that place for the rest of my life. Their cinnamon buns were actually pretty good tho
The most popular way to eat steak is medium rare. Excellent taste, guys. The next most popular options are rare and medium, also. It just works. And 9.4% of people clicked well done when they should have clicked overcooked, but it's okay we understand.
The Joker is the most popular Batman nemesis. By a long shot. Does this surprise anybody, though? We've had good Joker in the movies, and some of the comics focusing on him are the cream of the crop. I predicted this would happen, so I made a follow-up question: Scarecrow is the most popular nemesis when you can't pick the Joker. He's followed closely by Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy (I've seen this ship before. Coincidence?), as well as Bane and Deathstroke. Black Mask, Cluemaster, Hugo Strange, Hush, Killer Moth, Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist, and Victor Zsasz were not picked by anyone in either question. This chart shows the gain/loss for choices between questions. Two users did not vote in the second after voting in the first, and some seem to have changed to their second-favorite nemesis rather than keeping their original (non-Joker) answer.
The Wolf of Wall Street is the most popular Scorsese film. It's definitely a really fun movie, but I'm not sure if I would call it his best, y'know? Goodfellas is the next favorite, which is definitely an excellent choice. Gangs of New York (pretty good), The Departed (amazing remake of a great Hong Kong film), Taxi Driver (true classic), and Shutter Island round out the top choices.
Pulp Fiction is the most popular Tarantino film. Pulp Fiction is an iconic film, definitely happy to see how many people enjoyed it. Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds tie for the number 2 spot, followed by Django Unchained and Reservoir Dogs (my personal fave). I'll admit I'm a little sad to see no votes for Jackie Brown. Tarantino's original works often overshadow it, and I think it's just a little unfair as it's a good movie on its own.
Here is an album of the first fictional crushes you guys had. Except like 3 people said my mother. She's not fictional, guys.
Yeezus is the most popular Yeezy album. I remember picking up MBDTF after I heard Power somewhere, falling in love, and then initially hating Yeezus. It's certainly grown on me as I've come to see it as a much more harsh version of Kanye's style. While I still can't move MBDTF from my top list, you better believe I'm in love with the drop in "Blood on the Leaves." MBDTF, Graduation, and Late Registration tie for second place. TLoP comes in 5th, followed by 808s and The College Dropout tied for 6th. A little sad to see so few votes for 808s, it's arguably the most beautiful of Kanye's albums, and it's certainly helped pave the way for some of the newer, more emotional sounds. Cruel Summer and WtT received no votes, which isn't too unfair to me. They aren't 100% Kanye albums, but they are still good albums in their own rights (even though I can't listen to WtT anymore - FUCK YOU JAY).
PogChamp and Kappa are the top Twitch emotes. If I could make a version of this with the emote images at the bottom instead of text, I would, but I don't really wanna. Surprised VoHiYo is so low, where my weebs at?
The most popular emoji are 🤔, 👌, 🍆, complaining about how much you hate emoji, and 🅱. There were too many complaints for me to bother taking them all out to make a chart.
MULAN IS THE BEST DISNEY PRINCESS. DAMN STRAIGHT SHE IS, SHE KICKS ASS! Ariel secures the second place spot, followed by Belle and Jasmine tied for third.
The years start coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming adnt hey
I thought I was a genius for the McConaughey question, but it turns out all three options just merge into one on the results page. But, hey, that's alright, alright? Alright.
Here's what's in our DNA. It's tough to gauge how many people interpreted this as an actual question asking about their personality/family, and how many just recognized it was a reference to the song by Kendrick Lamar Kung Fu Kenny. But, well, apparently most of us are loyal, while very few of us got hustle. Thanks for participating. I don't think this question will be returning. Here is the answer key if you wanted to see the reference.
Metallica is a controversial band. Look, okay, let me defend myself, I hadn't listened to them since high school when I wrote this. I wrote this because Funhaus was playing Guitar Hero Metallica when I was writing the survey, it just came into my head. I figured album ranking would be silly, since half of them are unpopular even among fans, and I knew I had to give the haters their own option. JK, that last question was a trap.
Final notes
Again, we'll leave the survey open until the 23rd if you want to participate and leave some (anonymous) feedback. Feel free to comment here if you have any more questions, comments, or concerns about the survey, subreddit, or Discord server.
We I hope to do another survey similar to this one in the future, but likely make a dedicated one for subreddit feedback and make separate surveys for the fun stuff. This probably won't happen until next year, though. Except the Katawa Shoujo question, that was hacked and we'll be redoing it soon.

Fantasy Stock Pro Review - Ryan Harper's new day trading software strategies Is is Scam or best penny stocks listing

Fantasy Stock Pro Review - Ryan Harper's new day trading software strategies Is is Scam or best penny stocks listing Helo, viewers we have made a under processing review about "Fantasy Stock Pro" which will update step by step how this day trading stock picks perform in market. Fantasy Stock Pro's Ryan Harper promises very high and quick returns to it's traders. But is this online stock investing software system a scam or it is best trading penny stocks in the market? Free download Fantasy Stock Pro as now hot day trading penny stock.
Product: Fantasy Stock Pro
Owner: Ryan Harper
Niche: day trading strategy
Website: FantasyStockPro.Com
My Fantasy Stock Pro Review
Binary option trading software is simply and one of the best way to execute winning trades without analyzing charts and following the market conditions but some trading platforms can prove to be a scam. The main header of the official website is the first thing we noticed that is not legitimate.
We see messages like this, normally in the binary options market with engineers attempting to make their items appear to be more imperative than they really are. Ryan Harper, creator of the software, trusts that he can instruct individuals to utilize his platform to make unbelievable huge profits of dollars every week.
Does Fantasy Stock Pro Scam
The Fantasy Stock Pro page likewise comprises of a story that clarifies how Ryan Harper ran over this technique. He let the traders know that he lives in Las Vegas and was really beginning to bring home profits playing blackjack yet, in the end, he came to the end of the month and he was dead bankrupt. In spite of the way that he was rendered bankrupt from playing blackjack he felt that he could utilize his blackjack system while trading stocks.
Ryan claims it’s conceivable to take 500 dollars and transformed into 500,000 and just 5 exchanges. There is no real proof that this software really works and this is the reason why we not recommend you to invest in another more reliable and trustworthy binary options system.
Is Fantasy Stock Pro Auto Trading Software
We won’t be recommending Fantasy Stock Pro software in light of the fact that it’s not an approved binary options trading software and the deals page does not persuade this is much else besides a “get rich fast” plans. As it’s highly unlikely for a free software to make you a millionaire in a matter of 5 minutes. So the traders should pay attention towards the privacy policy and agreements of the site as it does not seem legit to us.
Conclusion
After detailed investigation our team concluded that this Binary Robot is not safe. The lack of real and unbiased reviews on the Internet only increases our uncertainty. After opening an account with this auto-trading system, we have not yet achieved the profits advertised on their sales page. Unfortunately we cannot confirm that this robot is decent. .

Arthas Talent Rework Proposal

About myself
Hello, I’ve been a long time lurker, but this is the first time I’ve actually decided to post something on Reddit, so apologizes if I’ve messed something up by making this post.
After the hero and talent reworks from this last patch and the recent discussions about changes for Arthas and him being rather lackluster, I was inspired, and bored enough, to take a closer look at him and try to do one of my favorite video game characters some justice (or at least more interesting).
Full Disclosure: I am not an Arthas “main; I am not a game designer or balance specialist; I have been rank 1 multiple times (currently climbing back after a losing strike) but have rather mediocre MMR (low diamond); I have been playing since the alpha and have about 2400 games, nowhere a huge amount; I am not a pro or even TL player; and this is my first and only MOBA (not counting the original Warcraft DOTA).
Why a Talent Rework for Arthas?
As evident by numerous other posts about the state of Arthas, his popularity across all levels of play, his win rate, comments by the Blues, and general perception, Arthas has fallen behind other heroes in the game and has done so for a long time. Arthas’, as one of the primer Blizzard characters deserves attention. While his kit is niche and arguably clunky, my goal is to improve Arthas almost solely through changes to his talents and to refine and reinforce his role there, so as to make his niche a desirable one while still being clearly defined and not meta-encompassing. Through focusing improvement via his talents rather than kit or heroics, Arthas will fundamentally remain the same, but will now offer kore choice in how he is played to suit different playstyles and contexts, and for the actually Blues, easier to make marginal adjustments to.
The changes laid out in this proposal are not intended to drastically change Arthas into a new character or to make him the new OP, first pick/ban, although I have tried my best to be conservative with his power level and for this to result in a minor overall buff to him, as Arthas is by no means bad, only subpar and somewhat boring.
Ultimately, the overarching goal of this proposed rework is to make Arthas a more interesting and enjoyable character to play. If a hero is fun and interesting enough, even if subpar, people will find ways and opportunities to use them (sometimes unfortunately cough Nova). While this rework does not address the largely problems that Arthas faces which are inherent to his kit, the greatest flaw with him currently is uninspired talents and a dearth of excitement, something which I hope will be changed though a revamping of his talent tree.
Unchanged Talents For reference here is a link to Arthas’ current talents and kit: http://www.heroesfire.com/hots/talent-calculatoarthas
As I decided to get rather extensive with my changes, for simplicities sake here are talents which are unchanged:
• Rune Tap • Obliterate (D) • Army of the Dead (R1) • Summon Sindragosa (R2) • Immortal Coil (Q) • Absolute Zero (R)
Talent Rework
I have attempted to match the wording used by Blizzard in similar talents when possible, and to make the functions of each talent as clear and concise as possible, although I am sure that they are not all worded well enough. The names are completely subjective and again I have attempted to appropriately flavor them to match their function and the tone and lore of the character, so please focus instead on the actual workings on the talents rather than their names. Additionally, as stated before, I am no game designer, and so take the numbers when provided as approximations of balance, as in game testing at all levels of play, for each map, and with all compositions would be needed to determine actual, functional values.
Level 1: • Bone Shield – Upon hitting an enemy hero with a basic attack, gain a charge of Bone Shield, which blocks 50% of the next heroic attack (an auto-attack or ability). Stores up to 3 charges.
o A situational hybrid of block and spell shield, weaker than both separately, but with clever play can be very strong against enemy teams that don’t counter this. Emphasizes your role as the front line and makes you tankier the more aggressive you can be. Synergies with AA buffs to promote more comp considerations. Possibly leans too much on being aggressive and perhaps should be able to grant charges from auto attacks made on any enemies, not just heroes, however then that may be too powerful.
• Death Strike (D) – Heal for 100% of the damage dealt by Frostmourne Hungers
o Encourages greater thought on when to use your D (not getting around that phrasing), and adds some Blood DK fantasy to Arthas. Also gives you burst healing which scales very well with later talents.
• Harvest Soul – Collecting Regeneration Globes permanently increases health regeneration by 2 and mana regeneration by 0.1
o A stronger version of Regen Master and Conjuror’s for a hero that wants both health and mana regen, however provides no burst healing. The 2 health regeneration is more or less equal to Regen Master with Amplified Healing, without having to also give that to Arthas and making him better with healers. The fantasy of Arthas should include being the sole source of his own healing and being forsaken by the light and healers, not getting healed more by them.
• Immortal Coil (Q) (same) – Death Coil also heals when used on enemies. When used on self, the amount healed is increased by 50%.
o A reasonable talent that tried to split the difference between damage and healing, but just resulted in being worse than both Frostmourne Feeds and Stoneskin, now gives you a reason to be casting Coil on yourself in the early game and lets you get more aggressive when ganking kills or laning, but doesn’t scale well with other talents until late in the game unlike other options. Level 4: Utility tier that gives you some options which help to round out your build, and adapt to the enemy team’s playstyle.
• Cull the Weak – Deal 100% more damage to Minions and Mercenaries. Reduces damage taken from Minions and Mercenaries by 50%.
o Helps Arthas with laning, mana, and thus lets him gank more. Reinforces the fantasy of being the Arthas that destroyed Stratholme, betrayed the mercenaries that fought for him, and lead the armies that killed most of the population of the Eastern Kingdoms (yay lore). Too strong on heavy rotation maps, maybe, but Arthas never had much trouble with laning besides mana and not being able to use his kit for what its intended for, and notably this does not affect map monsters (e.g. the Immortal or the Spiders) or structures. If Johanna can have this at level 1, why can’t Arthas get his own version at level 4 when he is more group focused?
• Damnation (D) – Increase the damage bonus of Frostmourne Hungers by 25% for every 10% of life you are missing
o A combination of Destruction and Embrace Death which makes Destruction, which was reasonable, more interesting, and Embrace Death, which was terrible, usable. This offers much more room for personal skill and reinforces the idea that you are a strong frontline and a killing machine. Perhaps you want to get focused and then surprise a greedy squishy. Also makes healing an Arthas more interesting by moving away from the idea that you must always heal a damaged ally, especially a tank, and providing for more big yet simple plays with good communication. The damage bonus is potentially too powerful, particularly when paired with shields, so more number crunching would be appreciated.
• Might of the Frozen Wastes (W) – Howling Blast cooldown lowered by 3 seconds and is free when Frozen Tempest is activated. o It’s hard to make talents for Howling Blast, given that it is so binary: you either hit the root or you don’t, but it feels odd and makes an ability seem bad if there are no talents which affect it. Damage is in other parts of his kit and this can effect no one to the whole enemy team, and prevents them from leaving. This talent is simple, if boring, but does provide a solution to Arthas’ mana problems. See further before for a suggested replacement talent, as I personally feel this is on the weaker, and most importantly, boring side of my suggestions, however those who play Arthas would of course have a better idea on if this is the case or not.
• [ Winter is Coming or Frost Presence] (E) – Frozen Tempest now applies its slow twice as fast.
o Simple, but not boring, as often the slow applied by E goes unnoticed, this instead brings it to the forefront and enhances your ability to provide peel. Scales very well with your tier 13 talents. Punishes melee or those without escapes from getting caught with your E and helps Arthas a little bit with his issue of being kited, something which in principle seems silly for the Lich King.
Level 7: Refinement tier where you get to choose a talent to enhance your decision at level 1, also Shadow Trap.
• Rune Tap (same) – Every 3 Basic Attacks heal you for 3% of your max health.
o Its Rune Tap. Previous Arthas’ only talented healing outside of Regen Master (which he couldn’t abuse without Amplified Healing) and Army of the Dead (an ult) this is unchanged as it still fits in with his Death Knight theme and self-healing. Significantly enhanced by addition healing and migration talents in the level 1 tier, and new tools for keeping enemies close to you within the tree help to offset the rather long amount of time needed to get any worthwhile value out of this.
• Obliterate (D) (same) – Frostmourne Hungers also hits enemies near the target for 50% damage.
o As with Rune Tap, this is improved by other new talents in the tree and still feels like an appropriate improve on his kit. With additional survivability options beyond Rune Tap in the early/mid game, this is now a more attractive option and fits into a potential D build or further enhances your mercing ability.
• Chains of Ice (W) –Enemies hit by Howling Blast are also slowed by 40% for 1.5 seconds after the root expires.
o As a replacement for Frost Strike, this maintains the same effect while moving it to Howling Blast to improve the game flow when used. When on D, often you would have already used W to catch them and the slow was either wasted or only secured another auto attack or so. Now, the slow more naturally fits into how you use your abilities and can effect groups of enemies, offering more value. W becomes more interesting as you can now either choose to use it primarily for the root, which requires you to be in close range for effective use, or use it as a long range slow, reaching your target once the root is expired but they are still slowed. Possibly annoying to play against, but also forces more decisive usage of one’s escape.
• Shadow Trap – Activate to summon a Shadow Trap beneath a target which knocks back and deals minor damage after 2 seconds. Lasts 3 seconds. 60 second cooldown
o A small size Wave of Force or a Tychus/Medic Grenade for those who never did the Lich King fight in WoW, but also the immediate mark of someone who knew the basics of positioning and someone who didn’t, something which fits quite well with Arthas’ kit. Very strong, perhaps too much so if used right, but serves to make up for his lack of hard displacement an effectively allows you to talent into an interrupt, something every other tank has besides Leoric. Possibly should activate after 1.5 seconds to force greater precision when used with Howling Blast (as the root would prevent the knockback). Would be too strong if directly attached to Howling Blast, as the two are de facto linked together in practice already, although if this is indeed too strong, a weaker version attached to W would be the place for this concept or even as a replacement for the base W itself. Helps to offset lackluster heroics with its innate, yet hopefully skill intense, power while also capturing more of the flavor from Arthas’ character history.
Level 13:
• Remorseless Winter (E) – Increase the radius of Frozen Tempest by 50% and the slow applied to up to 60%, but no longer deals damage.
o The radius I am aiming for is approximately Azmodan’s Globe of Annihilation, so ignore the stated radius increase which is likely wrong. Talents which provide trade-offs between buffs and nerfs, like the old Cold Embrace, offer the chance to give grossly-powerful improvements at the loss of power elsewhere in the ability, something Cold Embrace previously failed at by over valuing range and undervaluing a team-wide 25% vulnerability debuff. Here, the trade-off is focused on team power vs individual power. A massive, largely unavoidable team-wide slow is very powerful, but is more palpable if the person providing it can’t kill you, or can’t kill you fast enough. Reflects the fantasy of Arthas not being dangerous solely because of his individual power, but also due to the power of the army (Team) he leads and commands. Potentially too annoying to play against with such a large slow, however given that all it does is slow and there are characters which can out range it despite its large size, it may be fair. Would be very interested in discussion about how slows in the game feel and how impactful they really are.
• Biting Cold (E) – Frozen Tempest Damage increased by 50% and its slow lingers for 1 second on enemies leaving its radius.
o A damage option for those who want it, but with the added change of helping you against kiting and peeling for your team safely. The buff to this talent is possibly unneeded and too much, however a straight damage buff by itself, while possibly impactful, is boring and does nothing to change your playstyle. If a tank is getting damage talents, they should also be doing something for their team, otherwise you simply turn into a tanky assassin and create confusion between your character’s role. Arthas may be a bruiser, but he’s a bruiser who slows and offers peel and these functions should be reinforced and reflected by his talents as appropriate.
• Chill of the Throne (E) – Heroes and Summons affected by Frozen Tempest have their Attack Speed slowed by 40%
o In refocusing Arthas around slows, attack speed should be included along with movement speed. This talent further punishes players for getting caught by Arthas, while improving his and his team’s survivability, and encourages Arthas to not be as scared to rush the frontline, and for the enemy team to try to bate him out of position and murder the backline. Helps players to learn the value of overextending and positioning and rewarding those that do so correctly. Likely too powerful at 40%, which was chosen to keep it in line with Imposing Presence, given the area it affects and ease of use, and I am likely overstating how this will affect the enemy team’s playstyle.
• [Death Does Not Stop or Might of the Scourge] (D) – While Frostmourne Hungers is activated you are Unstoppable.
o Another trade-off talent, giving you a vastly more powerful version of Relentless, and arguably Johanna’s trait given the potential uptime of this, in return for not being able to auto-attack and making A-clicking in melee very risky. Forces more strategy use of your D, reinforces the feeling of being an unstoppable (literally), evil, undead overlord, and solves most of your issues with kiting. Both helps and hinders your role of being the frontline, as you can approach and bate the enemy unheeded, but once you get to them you either have to give up being Unstoppable or not hit them or risk getting too close. A situationally more powerful Relentless that has (likely) lower uptime and requires self-restraint for proper usage. Has the potential additional benefit of lessening the important of Cleanse for Healers, as if you know how to use your D properly, you won’t have to rely on being Cleansed if you go too close to Zagara’s Maw, for instance. While very powerful on paper, I’m not certain of this being broken, given the lower uptime, self-limiting nature of it, and being able to be countered by staggered stuns from the enemy team.
Level 16:
• [On a Pale Horse or Invincible’s Reins] – Increase your Movement Speed by 10% and casting abilities no longer dismounts you (auto-attacks and your D will though).
o Thematically appropriate for Arthas specifically and the Death Knight class generally, while also providing a fun visual and helping Arthas with mobility issues. The main benefit of this is solving the issue of Sindragosa being difficult to cast from the front, and thus does lower the skill needed in using Arthas’ abilities. However, by level 16 other heroes are getting talents that provide more than strict utility and quality of life improvements, and so by not offering any direct power beyond a moderate movement speed buff, this talent is hopefully still reasonable.
• Death Pact – Activate to gain 40% of your maximum health as a shield for 5 seconds. Cannot benefit from external healing for 5 seconds.
o This talent represents the opposite of the above talent, all direct power and negative utility, functioning as both a significantly better Stoneskin and as a significantly more punishable Stoneskin. In a QM and likely even a HL situation, this is strictly better, however in TL or in the presence of enough coordination and focusing by the enemy team, this can be countered and deny Arthas his healer(s) leaving him dead. Points for change on this talent include preventing Arthas from benefiting from any healing effect, increasing the duration of the shield and/or debuff, and increasing the shield and the extent of the debuff or a combine of such. Of the talents I have suggested, this seems to me the most unbalanced when taken in conjunction with Unstoppable on D, however I am not sure if Arthas would benefit if they were included on the same tier.
• Succession (D) – Frostmourne Hungers cooldown lowered by 3 seconds. Takedowns reset the cooldown of Frostmourne Hungers.
o Takedowns include both allied and enemy heroes who die. In order to allow the existence of D granting Unstoppable, Frostmourne Feeds had to be removed as an option, and so this is its conceptual replacement, which also seeks to add some more flavor to Arthas by reinforcing his patricidal and soul-devouring aspects. This can be either better or worse than Frostmourne Feeds, with its variability partly offset by the included cooldown reduction. If an ally dies, then this serves as a minor comeback mechanic for the fight, and if an enemy hero dies, as a win-more mechanic and an opportunity to get greedy with kills and chase. Given the potential to deny the enemy team a comeback, it’s possible that the cooldown reduction aspect should be removed or lowered, or for an internal cooldown to be applied to the reset effect.
• Necrotic Plague (Q) – Death Coil will ricochet between nearby enemies, even when used on yourself.
o Like Howling Blast, Death Coil is also difficult to create talents for. This is intended to amplify the healing done by Immortal Coil with the chain effect, while also providing another means of damage and displacement for Arthas, helping to create of rhythm of spreading out and grouping up when facing him, remanence of a raid encounter. Although this doesn’t really change how you use Coil, it does add some more prominence to the ability that it currently lacks. While effectively serving the same purpose as before, only doing it more so, this talent will now change how the enemy team reacts to seeing Death Coil and take advantage of the spell’s travel time. Plus, a bunch of evil skulls flying out of people would look neat, and sometimes that is reason enough for something that is otherwise boring to exist.
Level 20:
• Legion of Northrend (R1) – 3 additional Ghouls are created. Ghouls heal for an additional 25% more and no longer expire.
o Swapped for the 5 second increased duration on the Ghouls for them being permanently, allowing for the banking of Ghouls. Forces greater emphasis on killing the Ghouls rather than just focusing Arthas, as if he lives he gets to keep them and has the potential to get 2 cooldowns worth up at once. In practice, likely nothing changes about how this talent affects the game and is more of a quality of life improvement over anything.
• Absolute Zero (R2) (same) – Sindragosa flies twice as far. Enemy heroes are rooted for 2 seconds, and then slowed by 60% for 2 seconds.
o Turns a lackluster ult into a very impactful one, no reason to change this as it serves its purpose.
• [Wrath of the Lich King or Heroic Mode] – Take 25% less damage while above 50% health, and deal 50% more damage while below 50% health.
o A replacement for Hardened Shield that fits the character better. Allows Arthas to tank when needed and to transition into a bruisedps when he’s close to dying, further reinforcing the fantasy of being an unkillable, unstoppable monster that deserves to be the single most hated figure in WoW.
• There Must Always be a Lich King – Your Respawn Timer is reduced by 15 seconds for every other dead allied hero.
o Made this solely for the name, and have no intention of this being a viable talent. Realistically, this provides a minor comeback mechanic in the vein of similar talents at 20 for Uther and Johanna, however requires your team to effectively be all dead for full value, and if you’re getting multiple full resets off of this, then at this point of the game a lone Arthas can’t stop the enemy team from destroying the core or capturing all the objectives.
One additional talent that I couldn’t find a place for, but thought was an interesting idea. Can be slotted in to replace any of the above which may be too weak or too strong: • Forsaken by the Light – Increases self-regeneration effects and healing by 50%

Hero tweak suggestions, part 1.Fan Content

Hi there, folks. First of all, I’d like to thank everyone who is involved in the development of this game. I think honestly Overwatch has the potential to become a great classic in the future. I’ve been always very keen on game design and, although the game is good in its current state, I believe it could be much better with some mechanic design tweaks that I feel this game utterly needs. It turns out I was bored some day and I made a list of changes that I’d love to see in each Overwatch hero, in order to achieve a better feel of the different fantasy that every hero wants to evoke, and fulfil some thematic issues that don’t look so great. Even I’ve elaborated changes to almost every hero, I just want to post issues of four of the total 22 heros. (If you are interested in more of them I’ll be glad to post the rest of them). I’d like to tell you my concerns about Sodier 76, McCree, Torbjörn and Bastion. Here they come.
Soldier 76
When this game was developed, devs talked about they wanted to create a hero that evoked part of the Call of Duty gameplay, so some new players could get into the game more easily. This is a great idea, thought! However, I feel his kit fails to achieve this in some features and, furthermore, it begins to feel stale.
One of the core kits in any FPS game is the grenade presence in every soldier element (but a TRUE grenade, not that McCree E abortion). Let me explain about how I believe a Soldier 76 grenade could work:
Why secondary weapon? I thought about replacing the grenade with the helix rockets, but I think that skill is not so bad. It gives Soldier some “Jack-of-all-trades” feeling (maybe it could have some special property more than a simple Phara rocket clone...), so the use of the secondary weapon slot is fine.
I tried to think about giving him more weapons, but I ended up rejecting the idea avoiding to overloading Soldier’s kit, but instead, I’d love to put an extra mechanic that could make a difference between good Soldier players and great Soldier players. I’ve considered the Gears of War perfect timing reloading. An extra push of reload button just in time (with a proper HUD indicator) could give Soldier some benefits in the field that he is thematically good at: Shooting. Maybe in the form of quicker reload or first bullets increased damage output. That would make Soldier’s gameplay a little more interesting giving the opportunity to mastering this guy a real thing.
About the ultimate... I’m not sure about it. I don’t like at all but I couldn’t make up something interesting, thematic and balanced enough to put it here. Maybe later...
McCree
McCree is what it seems. He is the definitive badass cowboy stereotype. It’s ok to have stereotypes, they are fun and the theming is easy to understand and really helps to give a concrete fantasy fulfilment. In the case of a cowboy the core is simple: His revolver. Even the primary use of the roll skill is reloading his weapon, which is awesome. Jesse should be focusing in good aim and making tricks with the revolver.
Although, if there is something for what a cowboy is NOT remembered is for the use of... flashbangs... It’s not really a flashbang actually. It is a firecracker that mysteriously makes you feel dizzy. It is shown that this skill is a nightmare to balance, mostly because the “stun” status is something utterly powerful, especially in a fast paced FPS game. Most of all it is not thematic at all with a cowboy concept. Moreover, this skill has a low skill binary nature that pretty much damages the rest of McCree’s kit (Fan the Hammer nerf due to this), and forces the player to the situation “You hit? You win. You miss? You’ve messed up”. I suggest something different:
Replacing this for “Ricochet”. I suggest a skill that makes McCree load a special bullet in the cylinder and enter in a focused state in which he is able to see the exact trajectory of a wall bouncing bullet. It can bounce twice, always in straight line (not parabolic). If it bounces at least once, the damage is doubled. If it hits after bouncing also the cooldown of his roll is refreshed (imagine the combos!). That would permit McCree a flashier gameplay and a huge rising in skill ceiling, that would also permit Fan the Hammer to have logical damage values again, because there is no guarantee 100% of hitting.
Everything else in McCree is fine in my opinion, maybe the roll could reset 1 second for each shoot landed for rewarding precision.
Torbjörn
Torbjörn wants to be the engineer of Overwatch, and that’s great. That’s a super interesting archetype with a lot of possibilities. However, I feel his kit is kind of bland and lackluster. In the beta he was a little more interesting due to the material gathering to improve your turret.
I think an engineer needs to build more things, in a strategical way to optimize resources (that’s what engineers do, actually). I’d love to see good Torbjörns achieving the main goal or fantasy that an engineer should propose: To handle situations long enough to upgrade his buildings and make them to give full performance as much time as possible.
Let’s see how Torb gameplay and decision making could be a little spicier. Let’s talk about the turret:
These mechanics will allow Torb to choose not only the wisest decision to counter the enemy team, but also turret positioning. Turret positioning nowadays is quite immutable (each map has those golden spots and that’s it...).
Now let’s talk about the armor packs. Armor packs are nice, it is an original way of supporting your teammates, but the way that is done I believe is absolutely dull. Instead of throwing them like if it was grain in a coop, Torb could be able to build another thing for that purpose. Yes, I know you are thinking about TF2 dispensator, but it is an awesome idea. Let’s think about it and go a little more further:
E: “Mini-forge disposal”
What I tried to do with this is force Torb to give him these questions:
With this kit, Torbjörn will be a lot more interesting, and great Torbjörns will be able to difference from average ones for his decisions and strategy. Btw, let Good Ol’ Torb repair ohmnics and another structures with the hammer!
Bastion
Let’s talk in the last place about Bastion. I know this one can be a little polemic. The first question that we should make to us is: Is Bastion fulfilling his fantasy to players that are good with him? My answer is no.
Bastion can be summarized with two words: Static defense. It is a turret, a deadly one. Its kit should help him to achieve that goal, but it’s simply... Nonexistent... And players don’t get encouraged to play with it because obvious reasons. The fact that it has a lot of counters is not bad, it’s actually good because game balance allows it to be more powerful. But not only that power is not enough, but also the way to use that power is totally unidimensional.
I’ll try to give Bastion certain options in order to being more powerful, surprise its enemies and raise a little bit the skill ceilling.
With this tweaks I feel Bastion will be more interesting without sacrificing its true core, which is great and even necessary in this game.
And that’s it, I hope you enjoyed. Please give feedback and bring new ideas to the table so we can discuss them. If you liked it I have some ideas to other heroes that could be very fun to implement. Maybe I’ll post another 4 heroes more another day.
Thank you!
